Just Thinking...
I know this has probably popped up on countless Star Trek sites, but here it goes again.
Y'see, I was thinking about a short story for the site (future scientists discover cricket and get it totally wrong), when something from the background of the story suddenly forced it into my head. And it's really stupid, when you think about it.
Who on earth thought that there should be a way of turning off the safety protocols in a holodeck?!? Why, except in Voyager, would you want the slightest possiblilty that a glitch in the system could cause that holographic bullet to blow a great whole in your spine? Considering the fact that Reg Barclay is so scared of the transporter , why does he spend so much time in a place that seems to be at least a thousand times more dangerous?!?
Or maybe the Xbox2 and PS4 have new peripherals that actually can snap your leg off and beat you to death with it?
