That Don't Impress Me Much
Okay, so your Ferrari is a wonderful looking car, and has a fantastic engine sound. And it's red. But does this mean you can block traffic outside the offices I work at and rev it for three minutes? And then come back and bloody do it again? The guy who has the yellow Ferrari doesn't do that - he knows he doesn't need to - people's heads turn anyway when it comes down the road. 'Course, he isn't a complete pillock!
Can you guess what cheesed me off this afternoon? I'm trying to get some paperwork done after sending my eyes all funny by doing computer stuff all morning, when this prat turns up and shows off his new Ferrari. Sigh. The real shame of it all is that where in most towns you won't see many Ferraris (especially not big mutha Ferraris), Burnley seems to have a surplus of them. And Lamborghinis. And a few Lotus for good measure. of course there is also the usual surplus of BMW Z3 (almost as many of those as there are Peugeot 206!).
Hmm. Well, the Freelancer connection problem seems to be not just limited to me - Jamius can't link to a server either, though I did open a Vietcong server last night, and we had 4 others join to take on the gooks in the NVA base map. Lots of fun, and no real problems. And all that while talking over Messenger. Broadband, it seems, really does rock! Sadly the only way to get Nick online is probably to introduce him to the amount of porn you can download... Me? I'm sticking to music and episodes of Icons and Starcade from G4TV! We'll see what we can do on Sunday!
Ah well, not much cash, but I can get to Manchester tomorrow for the usual comic and book run - not many books to get just now, though a trip to HMV is needed for the new Bob Catley album... see, it's not all mp3 you know!
