Well, At Least It Was Warm In Manchester...
Actually, I think it was pretty warm everywhere yesterday, unlike this morning! The shopping trip went well, though I'd forgotten which Patrick O'Brian novels I was hunting for, so settled for a three for two deal at Waterstones... I'm sure I can survive with three books by Haruki Murakami! Y'know, it's scary just how literary my reading matter is getting lately... I also picked up the comics at Forbidden Planet!
Comic-wise, I'll admit, I really am enjoying the new Battle Of The Planets comic from Image... a more adult take on the original series (ie even more than Gatchaman!) that really is worth catching. Not that I read a lot of comics now - I get some manga (Ranma 1/2, Oh My Goddess!), a few others (Astro City, Strangers In Paradise, Bone, Leave It To Chance, and of course 2000AD and the Megazine!). To be honest the nearest i get to 'normal comics' is Danger Girl... but as that is pure brilliance, it doesn't count! The days of getting £60's worth of comics in the mail are thankfully long gone... I haven't read a Spiderman in years. Sounds like I've been on the 12 step program! Heck, I've hardly even read my own comics!!! (!)
Anyway - the trip was fun - the same man with dog and old asian lady with grandson on both the journey there and back, and a rather cute young lady who picked up the woman's stick at the same time as me when it flew forwards at the traffic lights! Thanks go out to her, as she made the trip worthwhile!!! Nice smile from her as I got of the bus too. These things make me happy.
One thing that didn't was coming home to find the parents had set the alarm... and the number wasn't the same as it used to be!!! It went off, and I had to call an aunt to find out what the code was!
In other news, my Ebay sales have gone well - I already have £44 in my Paypal account, and a sale to the US! I must dig more bits out to sell when I do my big (and late) spring clean next weekend!
Ah well - off to Nicks to shoot people all day I suppose - later, no doubt!
