It's September Next Week...
...and can't you tell? the weather has already taken a turn to the wetter, colder stuff. The heatwave is a thing of the past! Get the macks - its raining!!!
Still, the last week of August hasn't been too bad, what with London doing a New York/Ontario and having a power cut (we are safe up here in Lancashire as we still use steam-power!), and people ducking as Mars whizzes past!
Personally it has been ups and downs, as usual, though! The big interesting thing was that we briefly had an extra dog as the dog wardens had picked up a beautiful puppy and we had it overnight. Of course, it was male, intact (ie unsnipped!) and the other dogs really didn't like it! A mastiff cross,. it was lovely, and enjoyed being with me (though it apparently doesn't like men and runs away - say nothing, J, or else I won't put smilies into MT for you!!!). Hopefully it will get a good home (better than it had, for certain). While it was here there was some chaos though, as it loved cuddly toys (and my room has its fair share) and managed to break a Myth & Magic figurine while it grabbed one. Still, a little super glue, and it will be fine!
One thing that has really annoyed me this week has been the traffic on the roads - for some reason, I have been caught in traffic jams every day this week (and nearly taken out going up to Sabden when an idiot in a red 'souped up' Corsa didn't quite take the tight corner after the pub. And nealy hit a cat as it leapt over the wall of Gawthorpe Hall and ran straight through traffic. i did have the chace to watch an idiot squirrel who kept jumping onto my car from an oak tree on a car park at Towneley Hall, which was nice.
The one thing that really got me this week was a rather nice blonde lady. But not for that reason! I was heading into M&S for some sandwiches and stuff when behind me a girl called - "Hiya!. The blonde in front turned and let out a real "OOOOHHHHHHH!!!" sigh, as if she hadn't seen the girl who called in years and the girl had brought her cute triplets with her... though as you can imagine, no toddlers were involved. Odd. Though having seen one poor woman (!) struggling to get out of the packed old Greggs shop in town with a baby slung on her front and a double (ie one-front-one-back) pram with what looked like monster truck tyres on it... there was a time when I wanted kids... let's just say that time has passed!
Sigh. Well, maybe it has... I'm sure I'll get broody again soon... I know, I'll avoid it by hoping that the doomsayer on various boards who has ben calling the Dredd vs Death game rubbish is wrong (I just want the multiplayer experience to work - as James says, some games get panned for single player and shunned, but the MP rocks - Dredd should be one game wher MP shines). Of course, if it is rubbish, there's always Halo PC (surely that's impossible to bugger up!), and I can always spend the month playing Golden Sun 2...
