Yes, I Know It's Been Ages...

...but I haven't felt like doing much blog so far this year for one reason or another! Still, I've done more than James...!

The big reason that I've done nothing here is that for most of January I was off ill - the bug that hit me over Christmas hit gain, and totally knocked me off work for a week. I felt better at the weekend and went to work, where I promptly had a funny do and nearly fainted - shades of my collapse a few years back! Thankfully people convinced me to go home, so I booked the rest of that week off work, and ended up in bed for most of it (see previous entry)! I also had to have the following week off as I was in no shape to go to work. I had hoped to get round to working on the sites and comics, but I couldn't get my head round anything, so they had to wait. Due to this I've delayed the start of the new run of I.T. until the end of March and the start of Dark Tidings until April! Still, I survived the horrors of daytime TV and got back to work a couple of weeks ago, and managed to get through it all, though things were busy, especially when David takes the rule about not looking at electrics literally... two people he went to in my area while I was off were left with a portable doorbell instead of him taking a look at the bulbs (blown in one case) or the obviously cut wire to the doorbell outside. He's good on the paperwork side, and on moaning about how smoke alarms are not fitted the same across the county, but when it comes to his people and analytical skills...

Still, I survived, though feeling depressed meant that I had to spend money... I've finally got my own digital camera - convenient for taking my own photo reference images! - and bought City Of Heroes on day of release! Now, I may not be a power-player, but I'm happy to be the secret identy of both Keltica (a Level 11 Techo-brawler) and Hathor (a Level 10 Magical-blaster) running on the Union Server. This is the MMORPG for me at the moment (until Guild Wars - by the same company - is ready!) - no need to create shops, make stuff, etc, just go out and hit things and have fun! Unlike SWG, I actually like being on teams in this game (though occasionally we have bitten off a little more than we can chew!). Sadly, I'm the only one playing (James isn't into this sort of thing - he prefers JO, Andrew is an Everquest fan (or was all those months back when we last saw him!) though Nick is a little interested - he did help a little in creating Hathor last Sunday!). Speaking of that lot, Andrew may be turning up sometime in the near future (I got behind him this past week at the Manchester Road roundabout and he waved, and he told Nick that he might be around in 3 weeks or so about three weeks ago!), though James is grumpy because his PC is buggering about and turns up to moan and grump at us occasionally. Nick is his usual self, though alcohol depravation is starting to show - we missed the one big window I had this year while James was on holiday for a week due to me being so ill (not planned that way, I assure you) so he may start getting grumpy (though Joint Ops is successfully giving him another addiction to deal with - I really hope he doesn't join me on COH...

Site-wise, apart from the revised comic beginnings, things are happeneing - still some bits to do on the main sites, though Badgers may be changing... James has discovered a bit in MSN Messenger where you can do your own blog with phots and stuff, and asked whether we could do something, even if it's only just for his bit. I have a horrible feeling that I'll be building another (more complex) Mambo site here sometime in the not too distant future... still, he'll have to bloody well update it if I do!

Sigh. Other things this past month or so? Nearly getting hit by a learner driver one lunch on Towneley Hall car park, nearly getting hit by a driver (with german plates) on the wrong side of the road, pedestrians with death wishes... Good things include the (almost totally offical) news that Doctor Who will be here on 26th March at 7pm, and also staying up one night to look at Jupiter in my scope. Life may not be 'good' at the moment, but it's looking up...

Ah well - that's all I can do for now - Paragon City calls... oh, and some drawing, of course...!
