Gosh, It Has Been A While...

...but don't expect a huge entry, as you won't get it! Life, after beiong a bit on the pants side has started looking up, though the possibility of returning to work is a huge downer on the horizon (though I think I'll be having two weeks leave just to get myself straight and possibly give me time to compose a resignation letter that doesn't consist of the words 'Bugger Off!').

One of the main reasons for the lack of entries is that the days have been pretty samey while I've ben off, expept for the days I've been able to get out and the days I actually got down to artwork! Wake up, check Outpost Gallifrey for Who news, go downstairs, spend the morning watching daytime TV to numb the pain in my ankle (at least in the early days!) befor coming upstairs to draw/play games/read/sleep (delete as necessary). The evenings have involved watching Doctor Who and sleeping, with the occasional (!) game of Joint Operations/City Of Heroes of the superb Guild Wars...

Recently I got out to Manchester on my own, though considering how swollen my ankle was when I got back...

The good news is that the comics are getting done - once I get through Q'Pit I am ahead thanks to a little haitus (also known as getting stressed out and doing bugger all). There has been some bad news, though... Ayumi, my trusty computer, decided to have a fit and constantly shut down. I was lucky if I got to the BIOS before it fell over and turned off! A spend later I got a set of new bits for Ayumi, and managed to get the old Ayumi working in my other computer Kyoko, which worked out well. What worked out really well was ordering a Radeon 800XT and getting a Radeon 850XT instead as siomeone had picked the wrong item! That's the sort of mistake I can live with... I also had to splurge on a new cooker for my parents as theirs had totally given up the ghost. I love credit cards. Especially when they realise you didn't actually die in a big hairy fireball in Venezuala last Christmas like you told them and are, in fact, still very much alive (even if your ankle is aching and swollen). How many times can I tell them I don't want to get extra card insurance/life insurance/card protection/balance protection/etc for just £1.67 a month...

Let's just mention Doctor Who. And how great it is. And how it has beaten ITV every week (The Phantom Menace has no chance tomorrow night, though X-Men next week might be more of a challenge - though with the news slotted into the last half hour for quarter of an hour, and lot's of edits for violence/swearing it might not be so bad!)

So, things are not too bad, I'm beginning to enjoy myself, and things are almost tickety-boo. POne sad thing is that I won't be doing a commentary on Eurovison this year - partly due to the time factor (I'll still be on Outpost Gallifrey chatting about The Empty Child!) and partly as I'll be too busy laughing at the songs - and there will be some doozers tomorrow night!!! Terry Wogan and Ken Bruce will have a field day! Still, my pick is between Noway's Wigam (seriously AOR-style rock), Bosnia * Herzegovinia's Feminem (yet more East European stuff - fun and cute in the way it references the 50th Eurovision itself!), FYR Macedonias' Martin Vucic (catchy!), The Netherlands Glennis Grac (fantastic voice!)and the great song from Sweden's Martin Stenmark amongst others... lot's of catchy stuff and even some half-way decent stuff... though there are some total piles of smelly laundry too - Spain's entry is basically Las Ketchup (really!) - could they not be bothered? The semi-final last night was interesting with some dire stuff (some of which made it through!) - though I think amongst the worst had to be Ireland's entry. Remember the episode of Father Ted when Ireland admitted it sent crap songs as having won so many times was too expensive? This can be the only reason for something so bad! Still, should be a fun night with lots of cute girls (and one dress removing act - and I'm not talking about our own Javine!). One thing that hit me was the little interludes they showed between songs that are supposed to show off the country. Mines. Only a couple of nce girls (and one of them looked like a tourist). Train Stations. Hardly up to Turkey's standards... Still, considering all the country has been though recently, the show went well and productions values were good. But where do they find their presenters? Jokes so stilted they would be dodgy in their own language, and some serious autocue action! It's all part of the fun, though!

Right - I'm off - things to do - see you laterz!
